PERM booth at Game Fair 2002 makes $7,700!

Game Fair 2002 at the Armstrong Ranch in Anoka Minnesota was a successful show for PERM! Volunteers passed out information and answered questions from sportsmen concerned about tribal harvest of fish and game and how it is impacting non-tribal members in Minnesota. In addition PERM raised much needed funds through raffle ticket sales and Wildlife artwork sales. PERM would like to thank Chuck Delaney and all the folks at Game Fair for allowing PERM to be a part of this year’s event. We also want to thank all the volunteers who staffed the PERM booth, especially Marv Carlson and Jim Wille for coordinating everything!

Rockville Area Sportsman Club hosts fundraiser with PERM!

August 16, 2002 was the 1st Annual Rockville Area Sportsman Club Fundraiser to Save Minnesota. The banquet style fundraiser was held at the Rockville Sportsman’s Clubhouse on Hwy. 23. A ribeye steak dinner with all the trimmings was served and event attendees participated in many raffles, silent and live auctions, and great fellowship. The crowd was also treated to several guest speakers who updated them about the status of the Mille Lacs lake fishery and what was being proposed by legislators in St. Paul to deal with the crisis. PERM would like to express out deepest gratitude to the members of the Rockville Area Sportsman Club for doing so much work in organizing and hosting this fine event! Final figures were not available, but the event raised approximately $6,000!

Once again this past August, PERM and the Eastern Morrison County Sportsman’s Club (EMCSC) put on a benefit trap and sporting clay shoot. The annual event, hosted by the EMCSC at their gun range east of Pierz, MN is a great opportunity to hone your shooting skills, have some fun and raise money for the club’s gun range and PERM. We would like to thank everyone who attended the shoot. And PERM would especially like to thank the EMCSC for all the hard work they put into this event!

PERM & Tea Party’s Fall Auction is a big success!

The Annaul PERM Fall Auction was a special event this year. This year PERM co-hosted the event with the Mille Lacs County Tea Party. All proceeds from the sale were shared by PERM and the Tea Party, and are going to be forwarded to Mille Lacs County to be used to help win the reservation boundary dispute with the Mille Lacs Band. The event, hosted by Karpen’s Resort just north of Isle, MN each September, is PERM’s biggest fundraiser of the year. PERM would like to thank the Mille Lacs County Tea Party for all their hard work on this year’s auction. This year’s joint effort was essential to the events success. We want to thank everyone who donated, consigned and purchased auction merchandise. And we especially want to thank Joe and Marty Karpen for hosting the event at their resort again this year! Preliminary results indicate the fundraiser will net about $17,000
